Fatty liver disease has 2 types: alcoholic and non-alcoholic fatty disease. This disease can be caused by abnormalities at digestive tract, obesity, diabetes, and high level of fat in the blood and these exceeding nutrients will be stored at liver. When the level of fat stored in liver exceeding the approximate number, it damages liver’s tissues and cells and develops to fibrosis which finally develop to cirrhosis. The exceeding amount of fat in liver can be resulted from consuming high-fat diet, for instance, grilled, fried, and oily foods, even food featuring butter, milk, coconut milk, cheese, and yolk included. These foods mentioned mainly consist of fat and high calories that body cannot use up and store this exceeding fat in the liver leading to fatty liver disease.

Causes of fatty liver disease

Causes of fatty liver disease can be divided in 2 groups as follows:

  1. Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease is induced by exceeding alcohol consumption deteriorate the liver’s functions. The severe conditions of fatty liver disease depend on alcohol consumption frequency, quantity, and types.
  2. Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease is induced by the abnormalities in digestive tracts or diseases, such as, obesity, diabetes, and high-fat level in blood or hyperlipidemia.

Fatty Liver disease ranges of conditions

The disease ranges 4 stages as follows:

  • Stage I: the exceeding fat being stored in liver, but none of inflammation and fibrosis occurrences.
  • Stage II: there are inflammations at the liver which if they are not cured properly and prolong its stage of conditions over 6 months, it develops to chronic inflammatory liver disease.
  • Stage III: this stage develops severe inflammation and causes fibrosis which results from damaged liver tissues replacing healthy liver cells.
  • Stage IV: this stage indicates the most damaged liver tissue cannot function properly and develop to cirrhosis and liver cancer.

  • Alcohol prevention
  • Always exercises.
